Facilities and Services for Nursing Homes

The home, the building gardens etc.

All our homes are decorated and furnished to the highest possible standards available in nursing homes, sympathetic to their era, and are buildings of character as you will see from the pages within this site. Incorporated in this are all the features expected in nursing homes, like ramps, extra handrails etc. All homes have an extensive maintenance and refurbishment program to ensure that you will always find our homes in the highest possible state of decor and general cleanliness. This also means that we have a maintenance/ handyman on site at least once a week to do little jobs like picture hanging/ furniture moving etc for residents. The gardens are in general reasonably large, (some very large.) Very beautiful and are lovingly kept by our own gardener, thus affording a comfortable and safe outdoor environment for residents and visitors alike.

If you were to wish to move in and bring your own furniture we would be more than happy to oblige, thereby keeping the possible stresses of moving home to a minimum, and making your new home a "home". And in some cases we may be able to arrange transport for you.

Food drink etc,

All food in our homes is prepared from fresh ingredients that are delivered daily, and lovingly put together in a home cooked style by our obliging cook, who will tailor the varied menu to meet any special dietary requirement you may have. We serve three meals a day, all with a choice of menu including a choice of desert, and tea or coffee. We also serve morning and afternoon tea, with cake, to which any visitor is more than welcome. You have the choice to eat in your room, or in the elegant dining rooms, all with the high levels of service and standard many have come to expect.

 

Staff

As registered nursing homes our nursing homes have at least one trained RGN on shift at all times, who work with well trained auxiliaries and carers to ensure the highest levels of nursing care for the elderly available. Our caring and considerate, well trained staff are given a tailored training program, to ensure that they are all aware of the needs of any particular resident, and have the skills to care for them. Our care training program is second to none, and was used as a basis for the NVQ training, and still being of a higher standard. As well as our carers we have dedicated teams of domestic staff to ensure that the homes are always spotlessly clean and tidy, and of course the kitchen and administrative staff ensuring you get good meals and your affairs with us are all in order.

Healthcare and Additional Services

Before you arrive with us you will already have been assessed as to your needs, and as soon as you do arrive you will be given a tailored plan of care, and we will arrange a local GP for you if you don't have one. We have very close ties with our pharmacist who can arrange up to the minute medications, treatments diet supplements etc.

If you were to wish for any additional exercise help we have a fitness expert who will visit once a week to take group exercise sessions in the form of games and instruction. ( click to see a photo)

On top of this we arrange regular visits from chiropodists, physiotherapists, dentists, hairdressers, (many homes now with dedicated hair salons) newspaper deliveries dry cleaning, religious worship etc. (We welcome any religions). In fact we can arrange virtually anything you may wish for - after all we aim to make it "Your Home Not Ours"

Social Arrangements

We have many in-house social events, from visiting singers and performers, to children's choirs. These are readily advertised around the homes, to allow all to attend ( or not! if they so choose.) On some occasions we have joint events with other homes from the group, to give a diverse program of entertainment's and day trips. Of course if you have a specific hobby or interest we will be happy to help you arrange it. Couple this with regular trips out in our own minibuses, just for afternoon tea, a river cruise on the Deben or the Broads. Or in fact anything with popular demand, and we think you will have a very pleasant time with us.

Special Needs

As a registered nursing home we have mentioned that we are specially equipped, including extra handrails etc. We also have all the equipment needed to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible, whatever your need may be. These include such things as airwave beds, for relief of pressure sores etc, special chairs, in fact all equipment you may need.
